The Zimbabwe Agriculture Show bursts into life, drawing thousands of families, exhibitors and thrill-seekers in what many are already hailing as one of the best-organised editions in years.

By mid-morning, the exhibition centre was a hive of colour and energy.

Parking spaces around the grounds overflowed with cars as visitors streamed in, eager to sample a feast of entertainment, innovation and business opportunities.

Children have been the day’s biggest winners.

Face-painting stalls, horse rides, traditional dances and games are keeping them busy, while some stands have became magnets with interactive games and activities.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police and Zimbabwe National Army are adding to the excitement as youngsters clamber onto police bikes, tankers and even fighter jets, proudly posing for pictures.

At the Scottland FC stand, fans are being treated to soccer scoring games, laughter and

banter with popular comedians, thereby creating a carnival atmosphere.

For exhibitors, the show provides a platform to shine.

From cutting-edge technology to traditional crafts, companies are showcasing a dazzling array of products.

Officials said the rise in exhibitors this year was evident in the sheer size of the crowds.

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training also used the opportunity to recruit for the National Youth Service and vocational training programmes.

“Those who wish to enrol in our various vocational colleges can come here with their particulars,” said Acting Director of Communication and Advocacy, Mr Ranson Madzamba.

As the day winds down, the buzz around the exhibition centre shows no sign of slowing down.

Vendors, food outlets and face-painting stalls keep reporting brisk business.

“Business has been good so far, and the numbers are rising,” said face painter Mr Luke Munjodzi.

“We expect even bigger crowds on Friday during the official opening and on Saturday.”

This Wednesday evening promises more magic for the young ones, with fireworks scheduled to light up Harare’s sky.

However, the highlight of the week will be Friday, when South African President Cyril Ramaphosa officially opens the event.

Until then, the Zimbabwe Agriculture Show looks set to keep dazzling, uniting families, businesses and communities in a rare blend of fun and enterprise.
