Zimbabwe and Cuba Sign agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic passport holders

VICE President Kembo Mohadi and his Cuban counterpart Salvador Valdes Mesa, on Thursday, witnessed the signing of an Agreement on the Reciprocal Exemption of Visa Requirements for holders of Diplomatic, Official, and Service Passports.

VP Mesa is representing Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez on a three-day official visit to Zimbabwe.

In a post on X, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said a Joint Permanent Agreement on Cooperation in Economic, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation between Zimbabwe and Cuba was signed in 1985.

The agreement provides for the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two countries.

 

Zimbabwe and Cuba have signed the following Agreements to date;

  1. Technical and Academic Exchange Agreement
  2. Agreement on the Recruitment of Cuban Medical Personnel
  3. Three Master Agreements between Biotech Pharmaceuticals and The National Biotechnology Authority, Biocubarfama Cuba and LabioFam Cuba. These Agreements allow for the transfer of technology to assist Zimbabwe produce Medical requirements.
  4. MoU on Cooperation in Sport
  5. Agreement on the Reciprocal Exemption of Visa Requirements for holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service Passports.
