Zimbabwe, Botswana engage on waste management

Botswana has expressed its commitment to collaborate with Zimbabwe in waste management after having been impressed by

Geo Pomona Waste Management’s model.

During the 44th SADC Summit of Heads of State held in Harare in August, visiting Presidents toured the Geo Pomona Waste

Management plant and registered their admiration for the project.

Thus, Zimbabwe, led by Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Engineer Amos Marawa and Geo

Pomona Waste Management Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr Dilesh Nguwaya are leading a delegation in

Botswana where the two countries are deliberating on areas of cooperation.

The delegation this morning met Botswana Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr Lemogang Kwape

who said Gaborone stood ready to collaborate with Harare in waste management.

Eng Marawa expressed Zimbabwe’s readiness to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

Dr Nguwaya said the waste management firm was ready to get the job done and ensure relations between Zimbabwe and

Botswana continue strengthening.
