YOUNG Zimbabwean boxer, Beaven Sibanda recorded his fourth career win in South Africa at the recently held Young Guns boxing tournament at Emperor’s Palace in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Sibanda beat Sabelo Nkosi by unanimous decision in their six-round straw weight bout to keep a clean record of four straight wins in his professional career. The tournament was promoted by South African company, Golden Gloves.
Going under the moniker, “The One”, Sibanda landed more punches with weight than his opponent on the night to take home the victory. The win was his last for 2022, thus proving to be a perfect end to the splendid year he has had in the ring across the Limpopo River.
Sibanda believes he deserves the good results that he has produced so far having worked hard through the year and also promised more of the same momentum in 2023.
“I worked so hard this year so it motivated me to keep pushing and believing in myself. Next year I’m going to be blazing more, I have yet another level that I want to reach and the goal is to beat everyone they put in front of me and we will see what my management has planned for me,” said Sibanda.

In his third professional fight, Sibanda, who hails from the Zimbabwean capital, Harare beat South Africa’s Mfanuvele Ntuli in their international catch-weight bout at the Lights Out tournament in South Africa last Saturday. He won the four-round bout via a split decision after two of the judges gave him their nod.

His third match was one of the curtain raiser matches for the biggest fight of the night which was between South Africa’s Kevin Lerena and Poland’s Mariusz Wach where the former emerged victorious in the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) heavyweight inter-continental title fight.
Sibanda’s 2023 schedule is yet to be advised. — @brandon_malvin
