Zimbabwe commemorates World Diabetes Day

Zimbabwe today joined the rest of the world in commemorating the World Diabetes Day, a day which seeks to promote diabetes advocacy and raise awareness on the dangers of the disease.

The commemorations are being held today in Chivhu.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who is also the Minister of Health and Child Care is the guest of honour.

Several Government officials including personnel from the Ministry of Health and Child Care and World Health Organisation (WHO) also graced the commemorations.

This year’s commemorations are being held under the theme “Access to Diabetes Care.”

Vice President urged the public to always get screened for diabetes.

“Most people who are living with diabetes need to be assisted to make their lives easier.”
