Zimbabwe Footgolfers shine in Zambia

ZIMBABWE footgolf stars brought home a gold medal after dominating at the University of Zambia Footgolf tournament held over the weekend.
The team, which is preparing for the Mexico Senior World Cup in May and the Germany Junior World Cup in July, swept medals in most categories.
Head of delegation Juliana Chihora said: “We are thrilled with the team’s growing confidence and improving scores. Our goal is to surprise the 70 nations at the World Cup, not just make up numbers.”
In the boys’ junior category, Handrick Ndhlovu (Zimbabwe) took first place, fellow Zimbabweans Lionel Nyamutsamba and Tiron Chibonde finished second and third, respectively.
In the girls’ junior category, Mudzidzei Sithole, Nicole Piruma and Aisha Phiri (all Zimbabwe) claimed first, second and third respectively.
Taurai Kademeteme (Zimbabwe) won the men’s category while Zambians Chileshe Chileshe and Agripa Zulu were second and third, respectively.
Majoko Margial (Zimbabwe) won the women’s category, with fellow Zimbabwean Enia Madi second and Vimbai Rubaya (Zimbabwe) third. In the senior women’s category, Dubel Diniwe (Zimbabwe) emerged victorious, Angelica Garira (Zimbabwe) was second, and Chitoro Vupenyu (Zimbabwe) took third. Mwape Notumbi (Zambia) won the senior men’s contest, Fanuel Mabhungu (Zimbabwe) finished second, and Cleopas Kwezera (Zimbabwe) was third.
In the senior men’s plus category, Stanslous Nyachowe (Zimbabwe) was the winner, Jakopo Pasipamire (Zimbabwe) placed second, and Mashonaland West Senator Eleven Kambizi (Zimbabwe) came third.
