Zimbabwe ICT Excellence Awards set to celebrate innovation, achievement

The Zimbabwe ICT Excellence Awards will take place at the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre in Harare on Thursday evening.

The event marks a significant occasion for the nation’s technology sector. The Midnight and Gold Gala promises to be a night of recognition, celebration, and inspiration, showcasing the remarkable achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations in Zimbabwe’s rapidly evolving ICT landscape.

The event will begin with a reception, bringing together distinguished guests that include influential policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators.

Vice President Kembo Mohadi, will be the guest of honour, alongside the Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services Dr Tatenda Mavetera, and other high-ranking officials.

The awards will recognise excellence across a range of categories, including Best Mobile Application, Best Cyber Security Initiative, Best Digital Empowerment Initiative (Private Sector), and ICT Industry Disruptor.

Special awards such as the Women in ICT Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award will highlight the sector’s focus on inclusivity and long-term contributions to Zimbabwe’s digital future.

Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Intotal Band, with DJ performances setting the tone for a festive atmosphere throughout the night.

Guests will also enjoy dinner and an engaging program, reflecting on the sector’s achievements and inspiring future innovation.

The Zimbabwe ICT Excellence Awards come at a time when the role of technology in the country’s economic and social development has never been more crucial.

With a growing number of technology-driven initiatives and innovations shaping the future, tonight’s event underscores the significance of a dynamic, inclusive digital ecosystem.

It serves as a reminder of the important strides made in the ICT sector and the continued commitment to fostering a more connected and progressive Zimbabwe.
