The newly constituted Zimbabwe Independent Complaints Commission (ZICC) has pledged to hit the ground running in the discharge of its duties following the swearing-in of its Commissioners by President Mnangagwa today.

Justice Webster Chinamora will chair ZICC.

Other commissioners are Ms Elizabeth Rutsate, Mr Andrew Mataruse and Mr Oliver Mandipaka.

Speaking in an interview at State House, Justice Chinamora said: “The mandate of the commission is to receive, investigate and make recommendations on individual complaints.

“If they require us to refer the complaints to the respective organisations, we will do that. If the courts are required to intervene, for instance in the case of claims for damages, then we do exactly that.”
