Zimbabwe is making significant strides in the education sector, President Mnangagwa has said.

In his remarks at the ED-UNZA Golf  Prize Giving Dinner that is being held at State House in Harare this evening, the President said the Second Republic is rolling out people-centred policies to uplift the lives of every Zimbabwean.

He said education is an important pillar in the country’s development.

“Education is critically important and its impact extends beyond the success of individuals,” he said.

President Mnangagwa commended various stakeholders for supporting the ED-UNZA scholarship programme.

He then paid tribute to the ED-UNZA Scholarship Fund board of trustees.

“You are playing your part towards building the Zimbabwe that leaves no one and no place behind,” said the President.

The E.D-UNZA scholarship programme is meant to assist girls and boys from disadvantaged families to pursue tertiary education.

Beneficiaries are drawn from the country’s 10 provinces.
