Acting President Cde Kembo Mohadi met with the Zimbabwe National Army Commander, Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi, on Monday, where they discussed matters aimed at enhancing security in the country.

The two held a meeting at Acting President Mohadi’s offices in Harare.

In a brief interview, Lt Gen Tapfumaneyi stated that his visit was part of a series of courtesy calls he was making to his principals following his recent appointment.

Lt Gen Tapfumaneyi assumed command of the ZNA last month after taking over from General Emmanuel Matatu, who was elevated to become the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

Gen Matatu succeeded Gen Phillip Valerio Sibanda, who recently retired from service.
