Zimbabwe has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening coordination across the health sector, with Government and development partners pledging to accelerate implementation of key health priorities to improve service delivery.
Speaking at a High-Level Health Sector Coordination Forum in Harare, Health and Child Care Permanent Secretary Dr Aspect Maunganidze said the meeting followed the Health Sector Working Group session held on July 24, where technical experts reviewed progress and identified solutions in areas including health financing, human resources, procurement, service delivery and health systems strengthening.
“Our objective is really not to just generate another set of resolutions, but to ensure that the resolutions already before us are translated into clear responsibilities, defined timelines and measurable results,” said Dr Maunganidze.
He acknowledged that the health sector continued to face constrained fiscal space and evolving financing arrangements, making it essential to maintain uninterrupted access to medicines and quality health services.
Dr Maunganidze said the ministry remained committed to implementing resolutions from the forum, avoiding duplication among partners and ensuring maximum value from available resources.
