ZIMBABWE has recorded the steepest decline in the latest FIFA rankings, falling nine places to 125th in the world.
The updated rankings were released on Thursday following the conclusion of the recent FIFA international window.
The Warriors’ slide comes on the back of two consecutive defeats during the break a 1-0 loss to Benin, followed by another 1-0 defeat to Rwanda. These disappointing results ended Zimbabwe’s hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Previously ranked 116th, Zimbabwe now sits at 125th with 1,135 ranking points. On the continental front, the national team has dropped to 35th in Africa.
