THE Zimbabwe International Taekwondo Academy has named the final team to take part in South Africa National Taekwondo Championship Tournament set for May 9 at Pinnacle College, in Johannesburg South Africa.

The team started their camp at Twin Rivers Primary at the beginning of this month.

Zimbabwe is expected to send a strong 24-member squad, which is currently under the tutelage of fifth Dan instructor Evan Brown.

The team will be part of over 160 athletes from Zimbabwe, Mozambique and host South Africa.

Brown said they are happy as Zimbabwe Taekwondo Academy to have named a strong 24-member team that will do duty in South Africa and they are looking forward to bring home some gold medals.

“We have selected a strong team made up of both juniors and seniors for the South Africa National Championship.

“We have been training hard for the past weeks and I am happy that everyone is raring to go.

“We will leave the country in a fortnight and we are looking forward to go and represent the country well. We have been working hard at training and we are expecting do well at the tournament,” said Brown.

“There is so much excitement and we are grateful to all the parents who have come on board to support the children in achieving their dream. We are hopeful that we will have some corporates who can come on board and support the athletes as we sorely depend on parent’s support,” added Brown.
