ZIMBABWE remain firmly in control of the test against Bangladesh after a dominant opening session on Day Three, reducing the visitors to 117 for 5 at lunch.

The hosts struck four crucial wickets during the morning session, with fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani leading the charge by claiming three wickets.

Left-arm seamer Newman Nyamhuri chipped in with one wicket as Bangladesh’s batting line-up struggled to build meaningful partnerships.

Bangladesh, who were bowled out for 140 in their first innings, reached 117 for 5 after 30.4 overs in their second innings.

They still trail Zimbabwe by 153 runs heading into the afternoon session.

Zimbabwe will be looking to wrap up the Bangladesh innings quickly after lunch and move closer to a memorable test victory.
