ENERGY and Power Development Minister July Moyo is set to attend the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 in India, with over 130 countries expected at the event on clean energy investment and partnerships.
Slotted for 2 to 5 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi in India, the Summit will bring together policymakers, investors and innovators to discuss clean energy investment, technology partnerships and international cooperation. It is hosted by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
In a statement, the organisers said the Summit will run alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH).
“Together, these events give countries one platform to discuss renewable energy markets, multilateral cooperation and new technologies. For Zimbabwe, the Summit offers a chance to meet governments, investors and technology providers who are working on clean energy at scale,” read part of the statement.
“Discussions will cover clean energy financing, resilient supply chains, green hydrogen and scalable deployment models. For developing economies, the focus will be on affordable energy access, technology exchange and new ways to finance projects. The ISA Assembly will add a multilateral view, with countries looking at practical ways to expand solar deployment, raise investment and build local skills.”
The organisers said India’s own numbers give context to the discussions as its non-fossil fuel capacity crossed 304 gigawatts (GW) in August 2026, including 168 GW of solar.
The country is working towards 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030, while reaching that target will need major investment in renewable generation, transmission, storage, manufacturing and green hydrogen, which opens doors for international capital and technology partners.
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India is the first Group of Twenty (G20) country to achieve the target set under the Paris Agreement.
Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, and President of the ISA Assembly, said, “India’s clean energy journey demonstrates what is possible when ambition is matched by investment, innovation and sustained action. But the energy transition is a shared global responsibility.”
He said at Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026, they invite governments, investors and innovators to forge partnerships, strengthen supply chains and advance solutions that make clean energy affordable and accessible to all as they turn shared ambition into lasting progress.
The Summit expects over 75 000 participants, more than 400 exhibitors, 500 speakers and 90 curated sessions.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe hosted the Eighth Meeting of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Regional Committee for the Africa Region from 25 to 27 August 2026 in Victoria Falls.
The ISA Assembly is the Alliance’s highest decision-making body, where Member Countries come together to review progress, strengthen international cooperation, and define the future direction of global solar energy initiatives.
The Assembly serves as a platform for policy dialogue, strategic collaboration, and partnership building, accelerating the transition towards affordable and sustainable solar energy worldwide.
