Zimbabwean businessmen head for Africa Business Conference

Two top Zimbabwean businessmen, WestProp Holdings chief executive officer Mr Ken Sharpe and Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA) president Dr Tinashe Manzungu have been selected among keynote speakers for the Africa Business Conference that is set for Johannesburg, South Africa, in October.

The conference is a brainchild of Big Business Africa and has attracted more than 20 speakers from South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Lesotho, United States of America and the United Kingdom, among others.
Big Business Africa seeks to empower businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals by creating a thriving ecosystem that unlocks Africa’s vast potential.

“We are excited to announce that Dr Manzungu, a distinguished Zimbabwean businessman will be a keynote speaker at the Africa Business Conference 2024,” reads a statement from Big Business Africa.
“He is known to be one of the prominent entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe with interests in construction, financial services, and insurance. He is a board member of the Africa Business Council, and board director for the Comesa Business Council, where he co-chairs the infrastructure subcommittee.”

Dr Manzungu said he is excited to be part of the event.
“South Africa, we are coming. I shall be part of the trajectory-defining event and would want to sponsor three serious young business people,” he posted on his Facebook page.
In a press release, Big Business Africa’s chief executive officer, Mr Stephene Chikozho said the conference will define new ways of doing business in Africa.

“On the 16th and 17th of October 2024, Big Business Africa is hosting a continental, collaboration and trade conference for up to 1 000 business leaders, industry experts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors and media representatives from Africa and the diaspora.

“A key objective of the upcoming Africa Business Conference is to have discussions that will assist industry leaders and entrepreneurs to define the new eras of doing business in Africa,” reads part of the statement.
