Zimbabweans pay last respects to national hero Brigadier-General (Retired) Elasto Madzingira

SCORES of Zimbabweans are now gathered at the National Heroes Acre in Harare for the burial of national hero Brigadier-General (Retired) Elasto Madzingira.
President Mnangagwa is presiding over the burial.

Senior Government officials, service chiefs, opposition party leaders and the diplomatic community are among those in attendance.

Brig-Gen Madzingira died at his home in Greendale, Harare, at the age of 65 on August 8 after a short illness.

 

Yesterday morning, Brig-Gen Madzingira’s body was airlifted to Gomba Village in Chivi District where friends, relatives and the Masvingo provincial leadership paid their last respects to the national hero.
