Zimbabwe’s Shamiso Mutsahuni shines at 7th African Spelling Bee

ZIMBABWE is beaming with pride as Shamiso Mutsahuni, a brilliant student from Irene Christian College (ICC), clinched the bronze medal at the 7th edition of the African Spelling Bee held recently in Abuja, Nigeria.

Competing in the senior category against some of the continent’s sharpest young minds, Mutsahuni’s stellar performance placed her third overall, earning Zimbabwe a prestigious spot on the podium.

The African Spelling Bee, a premier continental competition, brought together top spellers from seven countries namely Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Zambia, Benin, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, and Ghana.

Representing Zimbabwe with distinction were six outstanding spellers namely Mutsahuni, Ivainashe Mbanda (Kyle College), Chelsea Chingaira (Kyle College), Lauren Phillips (Uppervale College), Anisha Zvina (Goldridge) and Mufaro Munyaradzi (Celebration International School).
