A Harare man last week appeared in court for defrauding Zimbuild Property Investments owned by prominent Midlands businessman and land developer Dr Tinashe Manzungu of more than $70 000 in a botched earthmoving equipment deal.

It is understood that Baldwin Mushambi (33) of Harare, allegedly defrauded Zimbuild Property Investment after misrepresenting that he was selling a CAT Grader 140E.

It is alleged that Zimbuild’s transport and logistics officer, Mr Thembani Gumbo (28), allegedly deposited the money into Mushambi’s EcoCash and bank accounts.

After making the payment, Mushambi failed to deliver the grader and it was later discovered that the earthmoving machinery belonged to Peter Bosha.
