Zimpapers holds luncheon for secretaries

Addressing the secretaries, Zimpapers group human resources manager Mr Herbert Simemeza said secretaries are important to the company.
“You are the interface between management and the various subordinates within the group and clients,” he said.
“You also play a critical role as front office personnel in maintaining the group’s corporate image.”   
Mr Simemeza expressed gratitude to personal assistants, secretaries and front office staff whom he commended for respecting bosses.  
“Commit yourselves to your duties and encourage yourselves to study,” he said.
“Zimpapers is expanding and there is room for promotion, but this is definitely on merit. Some have already been incorporated at Star FM. Don’t remain secretaries.”
Mr Simemeza said Zimpapers’ study policy incorporated gender parity.
“A draft proposal on gender policy has been distributed throughout the whole group to source for input from all employees before being finalised and implemented,” he said.   
It was a fruitful afternoon as the administrative professional assistants had some of their concerns addressed.
FBC Holdings also held a luncheon for its secretaries at the same venue.
The firm’s group marketing head Priscilla Sadomba said in an interview that the secretaries were sharing ideas at the luncheon.
“This is an international day and we have also set it aside to appreciate, relax, interact and develop professional ideas with these ladies in appreciation of their hard work,” she said.  
“It is also an opportunity to network and get to know each other outside office work.”
She said secretaries should work hard, persevere and have genuine love for work and people.
