ZIMPAPERS hosts a Men’s Indaba in Kwekwe tomorrow, focusing on the pressing issue of old-age poverty and encouraging open discussions among men on long-term financial and emotional well-being.

The event will take place at Gazzania Lodges and Conference Centre in Kwekwe, running from 11am to 4pm.

Zimpapers marketing executive Mrs Prisca Chard said the event follows two successful gatherings held in Bulawayo and Harare, which attracted hundreds of participants, including male employees from invited organisations.

She said the indaba provided a platform for men to share experiences, explore challenges and learn from experts on topics such as financial planning, mental health, and stress management.

“The stage has been set for the Men to Men Indaba-Mental Wellness for Men, a focused and action-oriented dialogue aimed at breaking the silence around men’s mental health challenges in our communities. The event is hosted in line with the annual Mental Wellness Month for Men,” said Mrs Chard.

The inaugural Indaba was being hosted by Zimpapers with the support of a wide network of local partners, businesses, community groups and mental health professionals in the Midlands.

“It seeks to create a safe, stigma-free platform for men to speak openly about their mental wellness journeys, access practical tools for coping and connect with support systems in their personal and professional lives,” said Mrs Chard.

The objectives of the event, she said, include raising awareness and promoting education on men’s mental health, offering coping strategies and professional guidance, and addressing key stressors such as financial strain, grief, and substance abuse.

“The programme will feature expert presentations, engaging panel discussions, and interactive question-and-answer sessions with professionals in mental health, financial planning, substance abuse recovery, and personal development for men,” said Mrs Chard.
