throughout the country in a bid to strengthen the performance of the group’s operating units.

Announcing the changes yesterday, Mr Mutasa said long-serving Harare branch general manager Mr Walter Chipwaya will now be heading the Bulawayo branch, which publishes The Chronicle, Sunday News, B-Metro and the vernacular Umthunywa.

Mr Chipwaya, a seasoned printer with experience in advertising, is expected to turnaround the fortunes of the Bulawayo branch that has been experiencing several operational challenges.
“With his vast experience at Harare branch, which is the flagship of Zimpapers, I have no doubt that Walter will be able to improve the fortunes of the branch,” Mr Mutasa said.

Bulawayo branch general manager Mrs Sithembile Ncube has been re-deployed in a similar capacity to the Mutare branch that publishes the Manica Post. The Mutare branch is expected to reopen its printing department to serve the Mutare business community and create new revenue streams for the group.
