Zimpapers, as part of its corporate social responsibility and in partnership with Island Hospice, will host its Annual Flagship event, Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk on November 4.
The event will take place in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Gweru and Chinhoyi. Zimpapers Public Relations and Communications manager Pauline Matanda said the major objective of the campaign is to raise funds for Island Hospice’s cancer initiatives, while educating the public on the cancers that are most prevalent in this part of the world.
“Zimpapers takes this campaign, which also seeks to highlight the importance of keeping cancer patients comfortable and without pain (palliative care and hospice), as an opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of the society which it operates in.
It is against this background that we are seeking sponsorship for the walk with a target to raise at least US$50 000 towards cancer. We will be greatly honoured to partner you in support of this worthy cause,” she said.
