The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) has warned the public against fraudulent online advertisements falsely claiming to offer recruitment and training opportunities for rangers.
In a statement, ZimParks said it has noted a rise in fake notices circulating on social media and other online platforms, misleading members of the public into believing that the authority is conducting recruitment or training exercises.
“Members of the public are urged to exercise extreme caution and due diligence before enrolling in, or making any payments towards such alleged recruitment or training programmes,” reads the statement.
The authority said it does not charge fees for recruitment or training processes and advised anyone who encounters such scams to report them immediately to the relevant authorities.
ZimParks further encouraged the public to protect themselves and others by verifying all information through its official and verified communication channels before making any commitments.
The warning comes amid an increase in online scams targeting job seekers, particularly youths, by exploiting the demand for employment opportunities within Government institutions.
