Preparations for the ZimPraise Choir Festival to be held on October 9-10 at Rainbow Towers are at an advanced stage with organisers confirming the latest development.
“The two-day festival which is running under the same theme as in previous years, ‘It’s All About Jesus,’ is meant to send the message out there, non-profit making show but all about a calling,” said the inter-denominational choir chief executive officer Joseph Madziyire.
“The festival is meant to unify the Christians from all walks of life.
“We have lined up a lot of activities which will see the gospel festival accommodating all ages. We are starting off with a legends’ night and choir festival with artistes like Pastor Haisa, Baba Manyuruke, UFIC Choir, New Life Choir, Sunshine City Choir with other acts from Bulawayo which include Vocal X and Cream Voices among others.
“On the 10th we have a gospel gala which will start from 10am-4pm with artistes like Minister Mahendere, Matthias Mhere, Sabastian Magacha and we are giving a platform to upcoming gospel artistes to showcase their talent.
“The gala will run concurrently with kids’ festival where the young ones will administer the word of God in their own way.
“The festival is meant to unify Christians because we have seen a lot of festivals happening but not many are giving the platform to Christians,” said Madziyire.
Madziyire said the festival will also coincide with the launch of his debut book titled “Young Boy, Lead”.
He said the book, which is dedicated to young leaders across the globe aspiring to make it big, is based on his personal experiences: the trials and tribulations he has been through.
“The book I have put together is a manual that can help young leaders learn from my personal experiences.
“It is my prayer that after reading this book it shall take someone five years to achieve things that have taken me about 10 years, it should take one about two weeks to achieve things that have taken me a month and down to 12 hours to achieve things that have taken me a day. Whatever has taken me years, months, days, hours should take them less than what I have done,” he said.
He said the book is a form of biography.
“I have mentioned some little things, tips on how to be a good leader and how I became what I am. It was not easy being a leader, urging people to be resilient in the face of insurmountable odds to achieve their dreams. The world is getting busier, smaller and our days are numbered,” he said.
The book’s foreword was done by Bishop John Francis of Ruach City Church in London, UK, and it was endorsed by David Molapo, the president of John Maxwell Foundation (Africa), as well as Dr Terry King of Bridge of Life, Hagerstown, Maryland, US.
