THE Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) is set to take part in the 2026 Southern African Inter-Revenue Administration Games (SAIRAG) in Swakopmund, Namibia on Saturday and Sunday.
More than a hundred Zimbabwean athletes and officials flew out of Harare on Friday afternoon for Namibia where other customs and taxes departments from other countries have thronged.
At departure team members were elegantly dressed in national fabrics that reflects both identity and unity across the region.

SAIRAG has evolved into far more than a sporting spectacle.
It is a strategic convergence of revenue administrations, where sport meets institutional diplomacy, advancing collaboration, promoting employee wellness and strengthening camaraderie among member authorities.
Zimra’s consistent presence at the games speaks to a deliberate investment in its people and wellness.
Head of delegation, Cynthia Mugwira a senior staffer at Zimra, emphasised the broader significance of the games: “SAIRAG is not merely about competition; it is a platform that strengthens institutional bonds, promotes wellness and affirms the shared vision of excellence among revenue administrations in the region. Our delegation carries with it the values of integrity, teamwork and national pride.”
Team Zimbabwe will compete across a diverse range of disciplines, including athletics (short and long distance), pool, darts, chess, tug-of-war, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, soccer and netball, each contest an opportunity to showcase resilience, skill and the enduring spirit of teamwork.
In stepping onto this regional stage, Zimra is not only pursuing medals, but reaffirming its commitment to excellence, unity and the strengthening of partnerships that underpin Southern Africa’s collective progress.
Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe are taking part in the event with over 1,000 participants competing across various disciplines.
