The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority has called on the Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Budget, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion to lobby the Treasury to provide an additional ZiG4,1 billion to ensure the tax collector fulfill its mandate as expected.

This was said Tuesday by Zimra Commissioner General, Ms Regina Chinamasa when she appeared before the committee to discuss their budget allocation from the 2025 national budget presented last week.

She said they had submitted a bid of just over ZiG 9 billion but had been allocated around ZiG 5 billion which would make it difficult for them to fulfill their mandate.

“So in terms of additional funding, we would really want us to get the additional ZiG4,1billion if it is possible,” she said.

Ms Chinamasa said some of the issues that require additional funding include purchase of operational vehicles, ICT equipment and procurement of a national headquarters.
