NEW: Zimra extends deadline for 2023 income tax returns

Online Reporter

THE Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has extended the deadline for 2023 income tax submissions to the end of this month.

The original deadline for last year’s income tax returns was April 30, 2024.

“The Commissioner (domestic taxes) hereby advises all taxpayers that the income tax self-assessment — business for the year ended December 31, 2023 —  is now available in the Tax and Revenue Management System Self-Service Portal (TaRMS SSP) for submission.

“The due date has been changed from April 30, 2024 to May 31, 2024 to ensure smooth filing of returns in TaRMS.”

Zimra said the Zimbabwe dollar configuration currently appearing in TaRMS relates to the new currency — the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) — and therefore taxpayers should convert all figures into ZIG when capturing returns.
