Sunday Mail Reporter

The Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe (ICDZ) will this week release its list of Zimbabwe’s 40 most influential young leaders in business, public service, civil society, sports and entertainment.

ICDZ acting executive director, Dr Proctor Nyemba, said the final list was compiled from a group of 100 applicants.

“A lot of young people in business, private sector, Government, non-governmental organisations, entertainment and sport have submitted their names and we are now set to release the list of the 40 most influential young people in the country,” Dr Nyemba said.

“We hope this will help Government and the private sector identify young people who are contributing to the economy.

“Some of these young people have started their own successful projects that are employing hundreds of people without funding.

“We are going to release it in the next few days.”

He said a lot of young people had defied the odds by thriving under difficult conditions compounded by the Covid-19 pandemic.

ICDZ, added Dr Nyemba, strives to lead and demonstrate the value of excellence in directorship.

“Our members receive exclusive benefits that help them perform effectively and make meaningful contributions in the boardroom through highly regarded professional development programmes.”
