FOLLOWING the closure of the regular registration last week, the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) has opened a five-day long mop-up candidate registration window for November Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations.

While registration for O-level and A-level examinations closed on April 14, those who failed to register now have a final chance to do so from May 8 to May 12.

In a statement published in mainstream media yesterday, the examinations body also announced the interbank rate that will be applied during the registration exercise.

“This will allow centres to ensure that all their candidates have been registered for the November 2023 examinations,” it said.

“Examinations registration fees during that window are pegged according to normal registration.”

As such, Zimsec has said the bank rate will be at ZWL1 207 to US$1. However, parents are allowed to pay the fee in the currency they wish to use, it said.

“Payments for the examinations should not be paid directly into the Zimsec accounts by individual parents. Parents/candidates should make the payments to the school or centre of registration for forward remission to Zimsec,” said the council.
