ZIMBABWE National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) has commenced the household listing exercise for the 2025 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Access and Use by Households and Individuals Survey, a key step in gathering data to inform digital transformation policies.

The exercise, which will run from October 12 to 21, 2025, is part of preparations for the main survey set to begin in November 2025.

ZIMSTAT acting public relations and communications manager, Mr Roland Chiringa, said enumerators will visit households in selected areas across the country to collect essential listing information.

“During this exercise, ZIMSTAT enumerators will visit all households within selected enumeration areas across the country,” he said.

“They will carry official identification letters to authenticate their identity. This listing is a crucial preparatory step ahead of the main data collection phase scheduled for November.”

He assured the public that the exercise is being conducted under the Census and Statistics Act and that all collected information will be strictly confidential and used only for statistical purposes.

“The ICT survey will help government and stakeholders in policy formulation, planning and monitoring of development indicators,” Mr Chiringa said.

He urged citizens to cooperate fully with ZIMSTAT enumerators to ensure the success of the survey, which seeks to provide comprehensive data on ICT access and use among Zimbabwean households and individuals.

For more information, Mr Chiringa said households can contact ZIMSTAT provincial managers and statisticians across the country.
