NEDBANK Premier Netball League player of the moment Assah Zimusi says re-energised Harare City are in no slackening mood as they target the full points against Black Rhinos in today’s bubble in Masvingo.
Second-placed Black Rhinos can equal on-bye leaders ZDF Queens’ points tally if they find a way to beat the municipal team and minnows St P&P with the race for the championship getting hotter by the week.
The reverse showdown between Rhinos and Harare City in which the former triumphed by just four scores remains easily the best match seen this season.
And it is expected to awaken Mucheke, the first instalment having produced fireworks in Gweru.
Harare City were not in a good space back then, but their competitive spirit was well on show and with things flowing at the capital club, Zimusi believes nothing can stop them from running over the soldiers.
“We are certainly getting into our game against Black Rhinos with a score to settle.
“They beat us when the chips were down at our team although we tried our best the last time out,” said Zimusi.
“We led them for three quarters of the game but endurance failed us and we lost it towards the end.
“But this is a new game altogether. We are not going to let them off. We can’t lose twice to the same opponent especially an opponent that we matched and even bettered when we were low.
“It’s going to be sweat and more sweat for them. We are ready to rumble.”
The Gems Goal/Wing Defender who is a former Black Rhinos player said Harare City are not in Masvingo to collect the points against the army side only.
They will face St P&P as well as Falcons with wins in all their fixtures expected to cut the gap between them and Rhinos to six points that is if the latter clips a win against St P&P in their only other game.
“We need all the energy for us to do well in this bubble.
“We will face Harare City, but we also need to get wins over the other two opponents we will be playing,” added Zimusi.
“The girls are geared up and ready to play and win the matches.”
In Harare, an army derby featuring Harare District and 7 Flames headline the fixtures where refreshed Beitbridge are also expected to punch well.
