ZINARA ALLOCATES US$50 MILLION FOR ROAD REHABILITATION

Tafara Chibanda

THE Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has set aside over US$50 million for road rehabilitation works across the country, board chairperson, Dr Goerge Manyaya has announced.

Speaking at the official opening of the Solomon Mujuru Road, formerly known as Kirkman Road, in Harare on Monday, Dr Manyaya expressed satisfaction with the progress being made in ongoing road projects, citing improved accountability and transparency within ZINARA.

“We are impressed by the work we are seeing.

“We have plugged loopholes and now we have more capacity and money than before,” he said.

Dr Manyaya attributed this success to the restructuring of ZINARA and the appointment of Minister Felix Mhona, who ensured that funds were utilised efficiently.

“The restructuring and new leadership have made a significant impact.

“We are committed to delivering better roads for Zimbabwe,” he said.

He said Zimbabweans should expect improved road networks in the coming months.
