THE City of Harare is stepping up road maintenance works, with patching currently underway along Waterfalls Avenue, Boshoff Drive and Ardbennie Road.

The works are expected to extend to Simon Mazorodze Road as council targets some of the city’s worst-affected roads.

City of Harare spokesperson Mr Stanley Gama said council was carrying out patching works in various parts of the capital to improve road conditions.

“We are trying to do patching around Harare, especially in the worst-affected areas. So, as long as the tar is available, we will patch as much as possible,” he said.

Meanwhile, the city on Saturday carried out road-marking works along Jason Moyo Avenue in the central business district.

Council recently undertook similar road-marking works along Robert Mugabe Road in the CBD as part of efforts to improve road safety and visibility for motorists and pedestrians.
