ZIMBABWE National Roads Administration has availed $55 000 to Chipinge Town Council for the refurbishment of major roads in the agricultural town.
Chipinge town engineer Engineer Paul Mlauzi on Monday confirmed the development and said the funds would be channelled towards the rehabilitation of roads in the town
Eng Mlauzi said the council was mainly targeting the Gaza high-density to town road.
“The money we received will go a long way in refurbishing about 700 metres of the road from Chipinge TM Supermarket to Gaza high-density suburb.
“So far the council has managed to do road formation, gravelling, compaction and priming using part of the proceeds we received from ZINARA,” said Eng Mlauzi.
He said the council would be inviting construction companies to submit tenders for road resurfac- ing.
“We had a site visit on October 2 and we invited interested companies to submit their tenders by October 15.
“We are also expecting to finish the project by November this year before the onset of the rainy season,” he said
