THE Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) has made two significant appointments to its Board of Directors and Management, aimed at strengthening the administration’leadership and strategic direction.
Commissioner (Rtd) Felie Chikowero-Mjanga has been appointed as the new Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors. She succeeds Ms Lizwe Bunu, who retired in November 2024. Commissioner Chikowero-Mjanga brings a wealth of experience from her 33-year career in the Zimbabwe Republic Police, during which she earned multiple business intelligence qualifications, including a Master’s degree. Her distinguished career also includes service in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission to Liberia, where she received commendation for her exceptional conduct.
Zinara has highlighted her expertise in governance and public service excellence as valuable assets to the organisation.
Alderman Golden Aaron Shamu has been appointed as a Non-Executive Board Member, replacing Alderman Naison Mudzara, who retired in January 2025. Alderman Shamu is a respected business and community leader with a proven track record in driving successful business ventures, fostering cross-sector partnerships, and promoting innovative community development initiatives. He holds several academic and professional qualifications and is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration from Nottingham Trent University (UK). Additionally, he serves as the President of both the Zimbabwe Local Government Association and the Association of Rural District Councils in Zimbabwe.
These appointments are expected to enhance Zinara’s strategic direction by leveraging the extensive experience and leadership of the new board members. Zinara, a state-owned enterprise, is responsible for fixing, collecting, and disbursing road user fees to maintain road infrastructure in Zimbabwe.
