The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company continues to assert its growing influence as a key driver of national development, with plans to expand its footprint through a bigger regional mining exhibition that will strengthen economic integration and industrial collaboration.

ZITF board chairman, Dr Busisa Moyo told delegates that the company’s mandate remained central to fostering national interaction and driving economic transformation through dynamic platforms such as the Mine Entra exhibition.

“And our role is to create that platform to facilitate, which is what we are doing. But it’s an honor to be doing it for a sector such as the mining sector,” said Dr Moyo.

The high-profile exhibition, which began yesterday, is being held under the theme “Beyond Extraction: Sustaining the Future of Mining.”

The theme underscores the sector’s strategic shift towards sustainability, technology, and investment as Zimbabwe accelerates efforts to unlock the full potential of its vast mineral wealth

Dr Moyo noted that the mining sector was emerging as a critical pillar of Zimbabwe’s economic growth and ZITF was proud to provide a platform that amplifies the sector’s voice and opportunities.

“So as ZITF, it’s an honor for us to collaborate with the actual sector players in the mining sector who are really taking center stage.

“Our success to provide that platform for them to interact, for them to raise the issues that concern them and for them to move to the next level, to dialogue, to exchange,” he said.

Dr Moyo paid tribute to Government for its continued support and policy guidance, which he said had helped the ZITF Company refine its approach and strengthen the Mine Entra brand.

“And thank you, Honorable Minister, and Honorable Ministers, for your guidance as we tweak, adjust, hone in our platform and our interactions at Mine Entra so that Mine Entra, the 29th edition, the 30th edition will be even better,” he said.

He revealed that this year’s edition of Mine Entra had attracted 240 direct exhibitors, reflecting steady growth and renewed investor confidence in Zimbabwe’s economic prospects.

“And this year, we have 240 direct exhibitors, which is growth slight growth from last year.

“But of particular interest is the growth in the number of international, those from outside.

“And as we continue since 1996, we have been wanting to see more and more of foreign participation and also participation by neighboring countries, DRC and Botswana, which are also in Zambia, also very strong in mining and how we can collaborate better and create a regional platform for Mine Entra,” said Dr Moyo.

The envisioned expansion of Mine Entra into a broader regional platform, Dr Moyo said, signaled Zimbabwe’s growing influence in facilitating trade, investment, and dialogue across Southern Africa’s mining landscape—positioning ZITF as a true catalyst for national and regional industrial growth.
