THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company will host a one-day golf tournament at the Bulawayo Golf Club next month. The ZITF Company, organisers of the country’s premier mining, engineering and transport exhibition, Mine Entra, have introduced the charity golf tournament to run concurrently with the expo. The Mine Entra exhibition will be held from 22 July to 24 July with the charity golf tournament being held on the last day of the showcase.

The golf tournament follows the successful hosting of ZITF charity golf challenge, which attracted 112 golfers last month.
“The Mine Entra 2015 Charity Golf Tournament will be one of the events organised to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the country’s largest mining exhibition,’’ said Stella Nkomo, the ZITF Company public relations and marketing manager.

The play format will be four ball better ball with own pairs drawn into foursomes.
“The charity event will seek to benefit injured mine workers who have a disability resulting from a workplace accident, in particular those rendered incapable of performing their work or unable to do so without first undergoing a rehabilitation programme. Corporate sponsors and mining houses are also being invited to partner with Mine Entra in support of this cause, which is particularly relevant to their industry. Interested golfers are also invited to register their teams in support of a worthy cause,” said Nkomo.

The registration fee is pegged at $60 per player which includes green fees, halfway lunch and attendance in the cocktail event to be held on the same day.
Proceeds from the tourney will also be donated to Esandleni Sothando and used to clear the school fees balance of a number of disadvantaged girls to enable them to continue with their education.
