THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company is seeking local and international partners for the development of major infrastructure projects in Bulawayo, including a hotel, a convention centre and an office tower.
This is part of its broader strategy to expand operations and enhance the city’s appeal as a premier destination for global exhibitions and conferences.
The call for expressions of interest (EOI) was announced under General Notice 721 of 2025, published in the Government Gazette last Friday. Interested parties were invited to submit EOIs by May 3, with completed documents due by May 31.
According to the notice, ZITF is looking for qualified partners to design, fund and construct a three-star or five-star hotel, a convention centre, an office tower and a theme park.
“ZITF seeks EOI from qualified local and international parties for the following: Development of plans, designs, funding and construction of a three star or five-star hotel.
“Development of plans, designs, funding and construction of a convention centre.
“Development of plans, designs, funding and construction of an office tower.
“Development of plans, designs, funding and construction of a theme park,” reads part of the notice.
Interested companies can collect EOI forms from the ZITF chief executive’s office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$100. Forms will be available until May 10 during working hours.
Applicants are required to demonstrate at least 10 years of experience in executing similar development projects.
Submissions must include company registration documents, a corporate profile, details of both executive and non-executive directors, a project proposal and proof of funding capacity.
The latest developments are part of the implementation of ZITF’s Visionary Master Plan, launched in 2023, which aims to position Bulawayo as a leading destination for world-class exhibitions, trade shows and business tourism.
As part of the plan, ZITF recently completed the construction of a US$1,2 million shopping centre.
Following the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the ZITF has been on a strong recovery path.
