ZNA issues public appeal for information on wanted former soldiers

The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has issued a public notice seeking assistance to locate several former soldiers wanted in connection with various offences allegedly committed while they were in service.

In a statement released on, the ZNA said the individuals are wanted for questioning over alleged cases including theft of state property, unlawful possession of firearms, breach of military conduct.

The statement listed the following persons; inclusive of Milton Ndlovu who was based at 4.1 Infantry Brigade in Masvingo and also operated in Mbalabala(wanted since 2003), Denford Hove who operated in Mbalabala (wanted since 2007) and Sinikiwe Dube also from Mbalabala (wanted since 2003). It is suspected that they skipped the country

“These individuals were serving members of the Zimbabwe National Army and are wanted to assist with ongoing investigations,” the statement read in part.

The ZNA said it is suspected that some of the individuals may have left the country. Members of the public with information on their whereabouts are urged to contact the nearest police station or Military Police.

“The ZNA remains committed to upholding discipline and accountability within its ranks. We appeal to members of the public to assist law enforcement agencies by providing any information that may lead to the location of the listed persons,” the statement continued.

A legal expert who spoke on condition of anonymity said military-related offences are usually handled through both military and civilian courts, depending on the nature of the alleged offence.

The army did not give further details on the specific crimes committed by each of the wanted individuals.
