Zimbabwe National Army schools are set to twin with others run by the military in the Southern African Development Community and beyond in a move set to improve cross-cultural interaction in the region. Speaking at the School Heads and Brigade Education Officers Conference at Mechanised Brigade headquarters last week, army education director Colonel Enias Hungwe said the programme would help the schools share resources and ideas.
“When the twinning begins, we expect to have exchange programmes in academic, sports and arts disciplines,” he said. “We expect our pupils to be ambassadors in the countries which they would twin with, telling the true Zimbabwean story to their fellow students in other countries.”
Col Hungwe said ZNA schools submitted profiles to primary and secondary schools run by militaries in Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa.
