ZNA to raise funds for army charities

ZNA Schools Welfare Trust Fund and the ZNA Patients’ Welfare.
The ZNA has targeted to raise at least US$500 000 to support its charities.
In a speech read on his behalf, after the race, Defence Minister Emerson Mnangagwa hailed efforts by the ZNA to cater for the less privileged in society.
Mnangagwa said through various charity events, held so far this year, the ZNA had raised US$350 000.
“I am confident that the target of US$500 000 will be reached,” he said.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Martin Rushwaya, read the speech on behalf of Mnangagwa.
The main race, the ZNA Charity handicap horse race, which was run over 1 800 metres, was won by Choisir, which was being ridden by Derrick David.
Other races that took place include the Mbada Diamonds race, which was won by Monterey Bay with the Mighty Sha and Detective Casey taking second and third place.
The other race, the CITFOAM race, was won by Xis Boy with Mr Indigo second while Woodford Express came third.
Other races included the Zinara, the Bakers Inn race and the Colcom Stakes. — New Ziana.
