contemporary singer Jah Prayzah, sungura maestro Alick Macheso, Leonard Zhakata and flamboyant rhumba musician Energy Mutodi will be performing under one roof.
The show will be a synthesis of urban contemporary, sungura, zora and rhumba music from arguably four of the country’s best musicians.
The gig, being powered by Chipaz Promotions, promises to bring high-class entertainment to this satellite town, where artistes will be belting out tunes from their extensive discography.
With an anticipated bumper crowd, a medley of music genres, the artistes will also use the gig to further push their brands to this cosmopolitan crowd.
“Everything is in order and all the artistes have confirmed that they are coming and will rise to the occasion. Jah Prayzah will open the gig and showcase his reggae compilation.
“Mutodi will follow and spice up the event with his rhumba beat followed by Zhakata, who will show his prowess while Macheso will bring down the curtain.
“During Zhakata’s stint, all artistes will have the opportunity to come together on stage and collaborate on one song. It is a gesture, which shows there are no divisions in the music world. We are one and shall forever be united,” Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza said.
With hits such as “Ngwarira Kuparara” and “Gochi Gochi”, which have become hits among music lovers, Jah Prayzah promised something new for his fans.
“I am performing with experienced and big artistes and it is a privilege to perform in front of their fans. It is an opportunity and I will show them something new and different.
“We have new acts which music fans will see live on stage and we will also perform new songs from my forthcoming album,” he said.
Zhakata’s manager, Saul Mubvumbi, said the zora musician would give his best to his legion of fans.
Zhakata’s act is always top-notch and he often makes it a point to play all his hit songs when he gets on stage, which something that most artistes do not do.
Macheso is no stranger to live shows, and his act seems to be improving with each outing.
Following his show at Pamuzinda Highway Xscape last weekend, the “King of Sungura” will be out to show all and sundry that he deserves the throne more so as he will be playing on home ground.
Whenever he gets on stage, Macheso never misses an opportunity to introduce new antics, something that endears him to his fans.
At Pamuzinda, he had the crowd in a frenzy when he used his bass guitar to mimic a conversation between Jonas Kasamba and himself.
Instead of verbally answering Kasamba, Macheso would induce sounds that matched his voice.
Revellers should expect nothing short of fireworks when this experienced guitarist and composer pulls yet another surprise.
