ZIMBABWE Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) in Midlands Province has received a $10 000 boost from land developer Kimlyn Housing Trust (KHT) towards its sports gala set for end of the month. ZPCS Midlands provincial sports officer, Assistant Principal Correctional Officer Tasunungurwa Chikwanda said they appreciated the donation by KHT, which has made it possible for the organisation to host the annual sports gala.

“We are going to host a big and different sport gala at the end of the month and our partner Kimlyn Housing Trust has made it possible by donating $10 000 towards the annual event,” said APCO Chikwanda.

He said all ZPCS stations in the province will come together to compete in different sporting disciplines like netball, soccer, volleyball, basketball and baseball with winners expected to walk away with a variety of prizes.

APCO Chikwanda said the sports gala is also aimed at activating teamwork among prison officers at or outside the work environment. KHT public relations officer Mr Hebert Mahenge said they were committed to sponsoring the ZPCS provincial games adding that the $10 000 donation was just a tip of the iceberg of what they were planning to do for the organisation in future.
