GWERU City will be hoping to maintain the heat on log leaders MSU when they make the long trip to Beitbridge to take on police outfit ZRP Beitbridge in a Zifa Central Soccer League encounter at Dulibadzimu Stadium.
The Gweru side, who bounced back from a 1–2 loss to MSU a fortnight ago to beat a fighting Vumbachikwe one nil, will be hoping to complete a double over the police outfit whom they beat two nil in the reverse fixture.
“Chiwororo” coach, Jeremiah Neganda expressed confidence that his charges would come out with a positive result from border town.
“We are going there needing nothing short of victory to enhance our chances of promotion.
“We know they (ZRP Beitbridge) are a good side and we respect them but the respect ends there. We are good travellers and see no reason why we will not collect maximum points in Beitbridge,” he said.
ZRP Beitbridge secretary, Russell Majuta was equally upbeat and promised the visitors a good game.
Depending on what happens in the match between Vumbachikwe and MSU at Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda, a win for “Chiwororo” will see them maintain second position or power to the summit of the table if MSU loses.
A battle for the uniformed forces is in the offing at Battlefields where army side Tongogara will be looking at spoiling the party for correctional services side Whawha when the two sides clash today.
Chrome Stars, whose campaign has gone off the rails, once more have a chance to redeem themselves when they entertain struggling Zvishavane Stars at Mbizo Stadium.
