DEPLETED Zifa Southern Region Division One outfit ZRP Bulawayo Province is recovering after losing nine players in the mid-season transfer window.
The players reportedly left in search of greener pastures and they have since been replaced by their juniors.
a�?Former Highlanders goalkeeper Njabulo a�?Popoa�� Nyoni, Mthulisi Sibanda and Mgcini Mpofu joined Bulawayo Chiefs, Chris Mpofu joined Makwiro Platinum, Michael Tamela joined Border strikers, Mandla Gasela joined Talen Vision and Trust Usayi just went AWOLa�?, said ZRP Bulawayo gaffer Rodgers Ndlovu.
Ita��s not the first time a team lost a lot of players in the Southern Region league as Chiwororo was reportedly left shallow after losing nine players.
However, the gaffer thinks his team has done well under the circumstances.
a�?I am very happy with the progress of the team because in the last seven games we have succumbed to one loss, two draws and four wins,a�? said Ndlovu.
a�?The captain Arnold Mushinga and a few other senior players who remained to cement their positions in the team are hard workers and have inspired our juniors to do the same,a�? he added.
Meanwhile, a new predicament has emerged for the police side.
a�?We have a new challenge as a team because we are failing to fulfil fixtures outside Bulawayo and ita��s becoming a cause for concern,a�? he said.
The team failed to fulfil its away fixtures against ZPC Hwange, Makomo and Amagagasi,
a�?Ita��s stressing me, I just wish things were smooth so that I concentrate on coaching,a�? said Ndlovu.
