attracted seven schools from Zone Seven – Hatcliff High, Mabelreign Girls High School, Vainona, Marlborough High, Emerald Hill and Gateway.
The seven schools were divided into two pools with Pool A made up of three schools – ZRP, Marlborough and Hatcliff while Pool B consisted of Mabelreign Girls High School, Vainona and Emerald Hill.

The top two teams in each pool progressed to the semi-finals.
ZRP finished on top in Pool A with six points and went on to beat Gateway 8-2 in the semi-finals.

They beat Marlborough High 6-3 in the finals to claim the title for zone seven.
Marlborough were the runners up in pool A and had beaten Vainona 10-9 in a tightly contested match in the other semi-final.

The tournament was used to select the team that will represent zone seven in the Harare provincial Under-16 tournament to be held this Friday at Mufakose High School.
Tournament convener Fungai Nyatanga said they are hoping for a good competition when they clash with schools from the other zones after a good show from the schools that competed in last week’s competition.

“The level of competition was quite high. The purpose of the tournament was to select a team that will represent zone seven in the provincial competition this Friday.
“We want to come away with a gold medal,” said Nyatanga.
