ZRP Morris fight relegation

Ellina Mhlanga Sports Reporter
ZRP Morris assistant coach Martin Bonongwe believes they are still in control of their destiny as they fight to survive the chop when the curtain comes down in the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league this weekend. Morris lost 1-2 to ZRP Football Club at Morris Depot in their previous game, leaving them hanging dangerously in their fight for survival.

A defeat in their last match against DC Academy at Tomlinson may see them making the exit into Division Two.
Six teams will face the axe at the end of the season and three teams — Royal Classic, Twalumba and Chegutu Pirates — have already been relegated. Three more teams will join them.

The police side is 12th on the log table and cannot afford to drop points in tomorrow’s match.
“The pressure is there; we would have loved to decide our position in the previous game, but, unfortunately, the results did not go our way. We will try to psyche them up for the game, bearing in mind that we need to win. We are in a precarious position. However, the good thing is our destiny is still in our hands if we win our last game. We just need to go for three points against DC Academy. If we win we won’t look back at what happened with the other teams, so we have to go for a win,” said Bonongwe.
