He was speaking at the official opening of the 2012 Press and Public Relations workshop in Harare.
“I would like to urge you to take a leading role in the fight against corruption, hence collective effort is required to rid the police of all members who engage in corrupt activities,” Deputy Comm-Gen Sibanda said.
He said officers should always remember that discipline and moral uprightness were pivotal to all their policing endeavours.
Deputy Comm-Gen Sibanda said the workshop afforded them a vital platform to enhance effective and efficient interface between the ZRP and the public.
He said the workshop came at a time when the nation was preparing for a referendum and general elections.
“Honestly, the success of these important processes is hinged on your professional application of public relations ethics, morals and norms, which foster constructive interaction between the organisation and its stakeholders,” he said.
He applauded the press and public relations section for defying all odds and remaining resolute in portraying the positive image of the force.
