ZIMPAPERS Television Network (ZTN) is set to host a charity football tournament at Old Mutual Sports Club in Emerald Hill on Saturday.
The tournament will feature 12 teams, among them some of the best social football teams in the country.
ZTN head of brand awareness and events management, Rumbidzai Nderere, said the event is meant to raise funds for Copota School for the Blind, as well as to network.
“The Prime Charity Football Tournament being hosted by ZTN is a charity event to raise funds for Copota School for the Blind, which has received little to no investment in nearly 40 years,” she said.
“We are hosting the tournament on the 25th of February at Old Mutual Sports Club and some teams that have confirmed include Impala, Proton, PanJap Motors, Power Master FC, Toobs FC, Old Mutual, FBC Holdings, Viego and Zimpapers. The main purpose is to bring people together, play social football and to network while giving back to charity as well,” she said.
Nderere said they are still looking for more stakeholders to sponsor and partner with them on the day.
“We want more sponsors and partnerships.
“There are still food stalls and exhibition spaces. The response has been very overwhelming mainly from the corporates and we look forward to a successful event.
“We hope to hold the tournament annually,” she said.
